Foreign deal for cashmere company

It is hoped the deal will safeguard jobs in Innerleithen An 80% share of a Borders cashmere company has been sold to Italian and American investors. Textiles entrepreneur Massimiliano Zegna Baruffa has taken a controlling interest in Innerleithen-based Ballantyne Cashmere. US clothing retailer Brooks Brothers has also taken a 25% stake in the firm. The company will operate under the new name JJ & HB 1788 Cashmere Mills.
