Election Matters: Obama leads by 10 points in state; by 44 in Madison

CALENDAR: The Nov. 4 election is 26 days from today. NEW PRESIDENTIAL POLL NUMBERS: Things are going from bad to worse for the John McCain-Sarah Palin campaign in Wisconsin. A week after the Republicans pulled out of the neighboring battleground state of Michigan because the campaign's poll deficit was extending to double digits, the GOP poll deficit in Wisconsin is extending to, er, double digits. Three new polls of Wisconsin voters put the Democratic ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden ahead in Wisconsin by at least 10 points. The WISC-TV poll of 600 likely voters had Obama leading 51-41 with 4 percent favoring other candidates and 4 percent undecided. The poll finds that Obama is viewed favorably by 57 percent of Wisconsinites, unfavorably by 33 percent. For McCain, it's 44 percent favorable, 45 percent unfavorable....
