Bonnie Nardi, an anthropologist at the University of California-Irvine, is doing research on the game after the school was given a $100,000 grant by the National Science Foundation. Nardi was given the grant because of her prior research on the game and her anthropology background. "I have been studying the World of Warcraft for the last three years," Nardi said.
