Both Floyd Central and Jeffersonville breezed through their semifinal matches on Wednesday, producing a third meeting this year between the two rivals in today’s 4:15 p.m. final. The 16th-ranked Highlanders defeated Silver Creek 5-0, while the No. 18 Red Devils dispatched New Albany by the same score. Floyd is vying for its sixth consecutive regional title, but head coach Rick Miller expects a tough battle with Jeff, which is coached by Mark Reilly. “It’s the best team he’s had in years,” Miller said. “He claims it’s the best team that he’s ever had, and I’d have to agree.
