Rugby: Soaring Ravens Oct 9 2008 by Ron Chalmers, Glamorgan Gazette THE Ravens ended 26 years of pain on Saturday when they became the first Bridgend team to win at the Gnoll since 1982, beating Neath by just one point. Their last victory at the ground saw them beat the Welsh All Blacks 26-3 in the Cup and, since then, they have endured over a quarter of a century of hurt. Back in 1982, the Ravens team included the likes of Glen Webbe, Gerald Williams, Gary Pearce and current team manager Colin Hillman. Since that victory, Bridgend teams with players of the calibre of Gareth Thomas, Dafydd James and Robert Howley have failed to prosper at the Gnoll.
