Cheryl's image sent to space

Pictures of Richard and Judy and Cheryl Cole were among the data sent into space today. A competition in conjunction with social networking site Bebo found 501 messages to send, via a high-powered radio wave, to the planet Gliese 581c. The messages were included in the digital time capsule called A Message From Earth. The capsule travelled at light speed, passing Mars in four minutes and leaving our own solar system within 20 hours. It will reach its destination in the spring of 2029.
