IU media day: Just who are these guys, anyway?

By Terry Hutchens • The Indianapolis Star • October 9, 2008 BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The scene in Assembly Hall yesterday afternoon was odd for an Indiana University basketball media day. The players all sat in chairs in various spots on the floor waiting to be interviewed. But there was one problem. No one knew who any of them were. At one point, when the players returned from a series of individual photographs, they had shirts on over their jerseys and couldn't even be identified by number. One by one, grasping rosters that showed names, numbers and a photograph, media members did their best to interview the 2008-09 Hoosiers. Of the scholarship players, Kyle Taber stood out like the most recognizable face in a game of "Where's Waldo." Of the walk-ons, Brett Finkelmeier emerged from a sea of unknowns.
