UNC Wilmington Department of Music announces UNCW Jazz Speaks Performance Series

The University of North Carolina Wilmington Department of Music presents UNCW Jazz Speaks: a monthly series of performances and lectures about jazz, from its origins to the present, by Joe Chambers, the Thomas S. Kenan Distinguished Professor of Jazz. With Jazz Speaks, Chambers seeks to bring to light not only the theoretical and aesthetic aspects if jazz, but also explore the history of jazz as a living, evolving musical expression with roots reaching back 2000 years by viewing the continuum of jazz from social and political perspectives.
