Pompey midfielder Richard Hughes relishing his meeting with boyhood heroes AC Milan midfielder Richard Hughes is excited at the prospect of a UEFA Cup meeting with AC Milan, the team he supported as a boy while growing up in the Italian city. The Scotland international, born in Glasgow, moved to Italy with his family as a child and later joined Atalanta's youth squad. He returned to Britain for a trial with Arsenal, who took him on but never played him in a first team match, before moving to Bournemouth 10 years ago from where Pompey bought him for £50,000 in 2002.
