Lake County pro Jason Couch bowls for charity with NBA greats

Clermont's Jason Couch joins NBA greats for charity event Dave Heeren | Special To The Sentinel CLERMONT Pro bowler Jason Couch's boyhood dream was to become a standout basketball player. Couch, who recently was named one of the top 50 bowlers in the first 50 years of the Professional Bowlers Association, considered trying out for basketball when he enrolled as a freshman at Clermont High School in 1984. "I wanted to play basketball, but I was too small," the 5-foot-10-inch Clermont resident said. "I kept rolling my ankles, and I didn't want to disrupt my development as a bowler, so I stuck to bowling. But I played pickup basketball four or five times a week. I loved playing pickup games."
