LIZ JONES: Why is gratuitous nudity being used to sell everything from handbags to fruit juice?

Over the years, I have written about many ludicrous fashion trends: Shoe-boots; all-in-one playsuits; artery-constricting skinny jeans; pasta-defying cummerbunds. But it seems a new, more annoying, impossible-to-look-good-in, intimidating, sexist and esteem-plummeting mania is gripping the big brands. It is one that is destined to strip away any remaining crutch we might have to cover our less-than-perfect bodies: the new trend for portraying women (perfect, young, tiny ones, of course) in absolutely nothing at all.
