Williams rallies Sixers past defending champ Celtics - Summary

Los Angeles - Louis Williams poured in 16 of his game-high 27 points in the final quarter, rallying the Philadelphia 76ers past the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics, 98-92 on Wednesday night, in the pre-season opener for both clubs. The Sixers trailed 92-89 with just under two minutes remaining before Williams led the late charge, that wiped out an early 14-point deficit. The speedy backup guard sparked a 9-0 closing run with seven points, and spotted Royal Ivey for the go-ahead jumper from the right sideline with 42 seconds left, to put Sixers ahead, 93-92.
