Marinelli's future not a topic of discussion during meeting with Ford BY NICHOLAS J. COTSONIKA • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • October 9, 2008 Coach Rod Marinelli met with owner William Clay Ford Sr. on Monday as he often does the day after a game. But Marinelli said they did not talk about his future, despite Sunday's 34-7 loss to Chicago and the Lions' 0-4 start. He also said Ford did not ask or order him to play any particular player. Asked if he got the feeling Ford still believes in him, Marinelli indicated he thought so. But he said: "I never try to read nothing into anything. I just go in and explain where we're at and what we're trying to do."
