A visit from Sarah | Excitement growing for hopeful’s stop in city The Tribune-Democrat If history is any indication, there should be plenty of excitement in the air on Saturday when would-be vice president Sarah Palin takes the podium at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. There’s no question this brassy, shoot-from-the hip hopeful has livened up the campaign of running mate Sen. John McCain. She has proved to be an enthusiastic speaker, as witnessed by her debate with Sen. Joe Biden. Palin is the first woman candidate for the No. 2 office since Geraldine Ferraro in ’84. During her short visit to Johnstown in September of ’84, Ferraro, too, generated a lot of excitement.
