For Katie Vancura, the years and setbacks are a blur. The Marquette volleyball player was in the midst of rattling off her list of injuries, surgeries and the unlikely circumstance that led to one of them when she got stuck somewhere between the second and third operation. “I’m sorry there’s just so many; they just mesh together. The second one was actually in the summer of . . . Nope, that was the third one,” she said, correcting herself. “The second one was actually in the summer of my junior year.” She’s had so many surgeries that it’s confusing. But you get the idea.
