Resignations in Moon prompt statewide search

Tim McLaughlin, chairman of the Moon supervisors, said he was surprised that Moon Manager Greg Smith resigned last week, but he would not try to change the mind of the township's top administrator who has served since 1984. The resignations of Mr. Smith, planning director Scott Brilhart and parks and recreation director Dana Kasler were announced at the Oct. 1 supervisors meeting. In his contract, Mr. Smith must provide 120 days' notice before leaving. The last day for Mr. Brilhart, had been planning director for seven years, will be Nov. 3. The resignation of Mr. Kasler, who was parks and recreation director for more than eight years, will be effective Nov. 7.
