By Susan Voyles • svoyles@rgj.com • October 8, 2008 Trying to squeeze a little more out of Charter Communications, the Reno City Council on Wednesday asked its staff to continue negotiations another two weeks over Charter’s plan to move community access television channels higher up the digital dial. Charter cable is making two proposals to the city after an initial round of talks with city officials. It is moving community access channels to the 200 level from channels 13, 15, 16 and 17 so it can use the abandoned analog band width to offer 12 to 24 new high-definition channels to compete with satellite TV without making any additional investment.
