Professor examines steroid use

With a steroid scandal plaguing professional baseball, Michel Haigh took the initiative to explore the burning issue from a unique perspective. Haigh, an assistant public relations professor in the College of Communications, recently published a research study regarding the image of Major League Baseball players who have been confronted by accusations of steroid use. The study, titled " 'The Cream,' The 'Clear,' BALCO and Baseball," analyzed media coverage of the topic spanning from 2003-06, and was published in a fall 2008 issue of the Journal of Sports Media.
