Child's play: MLB youngsters will play part in playoffs

Those guys may well determine whether their respective teams advance. Let's hope not. We've all marvelled at the way the aforementioned players and other Hall of Fame-types through the years have done the Atlas routine and carried their teams to pennants. A dominant performance from an All-Star player is awe-inspiring and sure is fun to watch, but it's not altogether unexpected. Would anybody be surprised if Howard does a Reggie Jackson and hits three homers in a game to beat the Dodgers in the NLCS? Ortiz knocking off the Rays with a walk-off hit wouldn't shock anybody.
