Owing to this consideration, the captains are required to pick shrewd pairings and on the recent finals day, at a waterlogged Lee-on-the-Solent GC, all matches went to at least the 16th green, before Andover narrowly lost to Basingstoke in the morning semi-final 3.5-1.5. The only winning pair in the Andover team were the unbeaten pairing of Peter Scott (4) and Will Cole (8).
