Accused of robbing Burger King with husband, shes sentenced

Gannett Wisconsin Media • October 8, 2008 MANITOWOC — A sobbing Kayla R. Phillips told Manitowoc County Circuit Judge Darryl Deets today that her main priority was to get her life back on track. I am sorry for everyone I hurt,” she said before Deets sentenced her to eight years of probation including an added year of jail time. Phillips, 20, entered a no-contest plea for an armed robbery with a threat of force when she robbed the Burger King restaurant on April 13. Her husband, Tristan Phillips, allegedly masterminded the plan to rob Burger King. The couple took about $8,500 from the Calumet Avenue restaurant and then barricaded two employees in a bathroom.
