Street racer's crash chokes highway for hours

Montreal Gazette Published:Â 26 minutes ago MONTREAL - When Quebec passed new legislation last spring to combat "excessive speeding," it hoped to deter motorists from engaging in the type of street racing that led to a serious accident on southbound Highway 15 early yesterday. The driver of the second car, who suffered minor injuries, is facing charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm (by street racing), Richard said. Southbound Highway 15 was closed until shortly after 7 a.m. between Boisbriand and Laval, causing massive traffic headaches for motorists, with several kilometres of bumper-to-bumper traffic.
