by Kim Hynes (WICHITA, Kan,) Twenty two people applied for the job of Wichita city manager. The consultants hired by the city think ten to fifteen could be qualified for the job. Wednesday the citizens search committee met with the consultants to go over the applications. They will determine a group of semi-finalists to eventually bring to the city council. Slavin Consultants took the applications and also recruited possible candidates. They contacted every community with a population larger than 100,000 with a city manager form of government. Misty Bruckner, chairwoman of the committee says she's pleased with the applications. She says the consultants made a difference finding qualified applicants.
