American art and art controversy lecture

Cornell University professor of American History and Culture lectures on controversial American art Michael Kammen, the Newton C. Farr Professor of American History and Culture at Cornell University, presented a lecture on his new book, "Visual Shock: When and Why American Art Sparks Controversy" on Tuesday afternoon in Weber State University's Stewart Library. "I'm delighted to be in Ogden," Kammen said as he greeted a full room. The diverse crowd included students, community members and WSU faculty and staff, as well as visiting faculty from Utah State University and the University of Utah. Many professors offered extra credit for attending the lecture. "It's great to have a cultural historian on campus," said WSU history professor Susan Matt.
