Jazz on the Mall Shares Music With Community

The Fourth Annual Duke Ellington Jazz Festival, the Jazz on the Mall, drew a large, exuberant crowd on Oct. 5. Noticeably scarce among the festival-goers was anyone under the age of 30. However, according to the DEJF's official site, one of the festival's goals is to expose jazz to all demographics. "Having a diverse lineup will appeal to all musical tastes," said Charlie Fishman, the executive producer. While the festival showcases jazz, it attempts to attract all music enthusiasts.
