Tampa Bay Wins First-Ever Playoff Series POSTED: 6:25 am PDT October 6, 2008 UPDATED: 5:31 pm PDT October 6, 2008 It's another first for the Tampa Bay Rays The Rays have advanced to the American League Championship Series for the first time in their 11-season history by downing the Chicago White Sox 6-2 in Game 4 of the ALDS at U.S. Cellular Field. B.J. Upton put the Rays ahead to stay, belting a solo homer two batters into the game before adding another solo blast in the third inning. Cliff Floyd sparked a two-run fourth that put Tampa Bay ahead 4-0, hitting an RBI double and scoring on Dioner Navarro's single. Carlos Pena provided a pair of run-scoring singles to keep the Rays in control of the game.
