CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Gov. Jim Gibbons spent just 12 days in his office at the Nevada Capitol during August and September, according to an analysis by the Las Vegas Sun. The Sun’s monitoring of the first-term Republican governor during the nine-week period showed he was in his Carson City office for five days in August, and not for a full eight hours on any of those days; and was in the office for seven days in September. On some days when Gibbons did show up, he attended a meeting or two and left. On many days when the governor didn’t go to his office, he had one or two public events, such as a business opening, a speech or an evening dinner.
