Corruption in Lebanon, between decline and steadiness

(AFP/ Ramzi Haidar) The LTA last week released the 2008 Corruption Perception Index, which ranks public opinion of government corruption in 180 nations. Lebanon placed 102 among 180 nations surveyed in perceived corruption, and 11 of 20 among countries in the Middle East region. This year’s index results suggest that the Lebanese people believe their public officials’ reputations for corruption are well earned.
