Wild card Kei Nishikori overcame a sore knee and a bad cold to oust eighth-seeded Marcel Granollers 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the opening round of the Stockholm Open on Monday. Granollers won the first set comfortably as the Japanese teen was bothered by a hurting right knee for which he requested treatment from a trainer early in the second set. "I've felt the pain for two days, I took a painkiller today but it didn't help," Nishikori said. "I was thinking about retiring more than 10 times I guess. But I kept on playing. I don't know how I could win today. I also have a cold. I'm not in my best condition."
