General strike scheduled in Belgium Monday

Three trade unions to strike through out Belgium Monday, leaving many sectors of the country disrupted. BELGIUM -- The three trade unions are holding a nation-wide general strike on Monday. The strike is to focus attention on the dip in purchasing power. According to the trade unions, the governments and the employers are not taking their complaints seriously. It is expected that the strike will be strongly supported and that several sectors will be paralysed by the strike. It is not yet exactly certain how much of a hindrance the strike will cause.
