Huntsville National Guard members stay busy helping victims of Ike

By Kristin Edwards Staff Reporter While most of Huntsville was getting back to normal last week after Hurricane Ike’s landfall, several members of the Texas National Guard company based in Huntsville were just returning from active duty in Houston. Even with their families and homes in the same shape as everyone else, approximately 130 members of the HHC 72nd special troops battalion traveled to where the devastation was even greater to do their part to help fellow Texas residents. “Our missions for Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike actually blended together,” said Capt.
