Techs in focus as late session follows sharp slide LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Technology stocks will be under scrutiny Monday evening, with the sector taking a strong hit during a massive sell-off on global equity markets as the financial crisis spread. Heading into the late-session, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite tumbled 8.3% to 1,825.26 to reach its lowest level since August 2004. Bellwethers were slammed. Apple Inc. tumbled nearly 8%, International Business Machines fell 5.7% and Hewlett-Packard Co. lost 5.3%. Shares of software provider Oracle fell 7.8%, with German rival SAP's warning that its quarterly profit would miss analyst estimates because of weakening economic conditions worldwide.
