VW names head for Tennessee plant

The Associated Press • August 20, 2008 CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Volkswagen officials say a long­time manager in Germany will head the automaker's new as­sembly plant in Chattanooga. Forty-six-year-old Frank Fischer is manager of VW's components plant in Bruns­wick, Germany, where the com­pany opened its first plant 70 years ago.
