Police are to review the safety of the area outside an Oxford nightclub's entrance after an incident which left a man fighting for his life. East Oxford's area police Inspector Brian Cooper vowed to produce a "safety by design" report about the junction of Magdalen Road and Cowley Road, after meeting residents, councillors and the Regal's managers. The report will assess whether safety can be improved by changing the layout of the busy junction, for example by installing extra lights. Adam Marsh, managing director of the Regal, said: "It's an absolutely fantastic idea. A visit from an external safety individual would be incredibly beneficial for the area.
