Finnish Current Account Rises to a Surplus of €1.2 Billion in June

Frankfurt - The Finnish current account rose to a surplus of €1.2 billion in June after slipping deeper into deficit territory with a reading of -€0.83 billion in the previous month. Economists had expected only a surplus of €0.85 billion, while May's figure was revised down from an initial reading of -€0.81 billion. According to the Bank of Finland, the country exported €5.73 billion worth of goods in the month, down from May's €5.78 billion level. However, the decline in imports was even greater, with the level falling to €4.79 billion from May's €5.16 billion. The deficit in services decreased to €33.9 million from May's €53.18 million level, while the financial account deficit dropped to €739.1 million in June from €2.8 billion.
