Nebraska Beef raises its recall to 1.36 mln pounds: report

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Nebraska Beef Ltd. has expanded its beef recall by an additional 160,000 pounds from its prior recall of 1.2 million pounds last week, Reuters report on Friday, citing the U.S. Agriculture Department. The USDA regulators said the company's production practice on June 24 was insufficient in controlling E. coli, an intestinal bacteria that can cause sickness or death when ingested, according to the report.
