JENNIFER WELLS From Friday's Globe and Mail Amid the general dross of Olympics commercials there is this: Little tykes kitted out as future winter games Olympians, chopping about on skates and falling down over curling stones. The Wonder+ Bread spots were created for Weston Bakeries Ltd. by Round Table Advertising. The challenge, says Brent Peterson, Round Table's creative director, lay in capturing the essence of childhood - purity, innocence, etc. For that, Round Table turned to legendary commercial director Bill Irish, whose CV includes "Bike Story," the classic Canadian Tire commercial in which dad retrieves a shiny red bike from the back of his truck for his wide-eyed, disbelieving son.
