Each time, the Cardinals' starter struck out. What Wellemeyer couldn't produce at the plate, he made sure from the mound he didn't need. Punctuating a series the Cardinals' starters dictated, Wellemeyer pitched a career-high 7 2/3 innings Thursday night and threw the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory against Florida at Dolphin Stadium.
