Classic snack brands return to aisles

They're back - long-gone classic snack brands, that is. This summer both Eagle Snacks (the 1980s line of beer-friendly Anheuser-Busch munchies like honey roasted peanuts) and Hydrox cream sandwich cookies (the 100-year-old dessert discontinued in 2003) have been revived. The reason? Booming brand loyalties that hung around long after the foodstuffs themselves were gone. Take Eagle Snacks, which got their start in the late 1980s with their starring role on airline flights. Even though they were no longer on the market, "6 out of 10 adults remember the brand," says new Eagle Snacks CEO Scott Lazar.
