In the life of the Montessori Academy of Naples, the third time was a charm. The school originally wanted to operate out of Cedar Montessori School in North Naples. But negotiations didn’t go as planned. A second location, in the old Italian-American Club, required zoning that would not allow the school to open in August. The solution came from a member of the Montessori Academy’s Board of Directors. Todd Gates, chief executive officer of Gates Architecture, Inc., had a building that could be converted into a school. “We started June 24 and, from start to finish, we will be done in seven weeks,” Gates said. “It’s a lot to get done.
