XPe tablet is daylight-readable

U.K.-based Quaduro Systems has introduced a tablet PC that runs Windows XP Embedded from SSD (solid state disk) storage, and includes a sunlight-readable display. The Quadpad E84 has an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz Celeron processor, Bluetooth, WiFi, plus PCMCIA, SD, and CompactFlash expansion slots, says Quaduro. Though compliance with specific standards wasn't cited, Quaduro says the Quadpad E84 withstands "harsh environments," thanks to its aluminum case. Durability is also said to be enhanced by the device's use of solid-state storage instead of a hard disk drive. Windows XP Embedded is installed on an 8GB flash drive which, since it is mounted in a CompactFlash slot, may be upgraded after purchase.
