WASHINGTON, (AFP) - Three airline consultancies unveiled Thursday an international joint venture to help carriers save money on fuel that has more than doubled in price in the past year. The companies -- Flight Services International of the United States, Sabena Flight Academy Consulting of Belgium and BMB Fuel Consulting Services of Canada -- said the new company will be called Flight Sciences Global Partners and will be headquartered in Brussels. An aircraft offers "a tremendous amount of gorgeous fuel data," Robert Kelland, chief executive of BMB Fuel, said at a news conference in Washington. "The airlines use the data to get the aircraft from A to B, but beyond that the data is not taken out to implement efficiency measures," he said.
