Tucson, Arizona | Published: 08.07.2008 A father and his 13-year-old daughter were arrested Monday after authorities say they tied a horse to the bumper of a truck and dragged it before kicking and striking the animal. The horse survived the attack and is said to be doing OK. The owner said he did it because the horse would not obey and needed to be moved to another location. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office gave the following account: The Sheriff’s Department received a report from a concerned citizen who thought that the owner of the horse was going to kill it in Florence. The caller said that the owner, Gordon Allen Bates, tied the horse to the back bumper of his truck with a chain and drove away.
