Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan says streamlining the pension and superannuation systems is a key component of the Federal Government's plan to streamline the economy. Mr Swan told delegates at a national finance conference on the Gold Coast last night that global conditions are the worst he has seen in a quarter of a century. He said reforming the tax system would make the economy more competitive and efficient. "We still have unfinished work in terms of our pension system and if we are going to recast that then it is going to have to fit in with superannuation, it's got to work together," he said.
