Pennington, a former Marshall Herd quarterback, was replaced by newly hired and Brett Favre for the teams top spot. Citing comments by the Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, Pennington made $6 million a year. Tannenbaum reportedly went on to say that he has all the respect in the world for Chad as a person and a player.
