By ČTK / Published 7 August 2008 Brussels/Prague, Aug 6 (CTK) - Prices of consumer electronics in the Czech Republic were the second lowest of all 27 EU countries last year, according to data available on the Eurostat website. Czech prices of consumer electronics reached 92 percent of the EU average. Slovakia, with 96 percent, was under the EU average, too. The price differences among individual countries are influenced mainly by different taxes and exchange rates, UniCredit Bank analyst Pavel Sobisek told CTK today. The Czech Republic's position will, however, change fundamentally this year, mainly due to the Czech crown's strong appreciation to the euro, according to Sobisek.
