On May 12th, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake toppled buildings, schools and factories in central China, killing tens of thousands of people and an estimated 12.5 million animals. Millions were left without homes or shelter. Amid almost unimaginable devastation, IFAW rushed close to $200,000 in aid to some of the hardest-hit areas in Sichuan province. From cooking oil to electrical generators, tents to water pumps, fencing materials to children's toys, much-needed supplies helped families recover and take care of their pets and backyard farm animals. Generous donors inside China and IFAW supporters around the world made our rapid response possible.
