MILFORD, Conn. (NBC) -- Connecticut police have found seven syringes strewn across two beaches near Milford. Six syringes were discovered at Windemere Beach after an 8-year-old girl was pricked by a needle there. Another was found on Bayview Beach. The girl was with an adult who was a short distance away when she picked up the needle and accidentally pricked her own finger. She was treated at Milford Hospital and released. They are awaiting test results. Police said Wednesday they believe the hypodermic needles are medical waste that washed up on shore because of the location the needles were found and because the ends were capped. Four of the seven syringes were found by members of Milford's police, fire and health departments who checked the beach after receiving the report the child was struck. Those needles were capped...
