Boothroyd expecting hard season

Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd has admitted that his side face a tough challenge in the Championship this season. Boothroyd saw defender Danny Shittu join the exodus out of Vicarage Road this summer on Wednesday and has been left with a threadbare squad for the opener at Crystal Palace on Saturday. He told Sky Sports News: "For me to say that promotion is impossible this year would be ridiculous. Anything is possible. "But at the same time a lot of hard work has got to be done on the training ground and in the transfer market. "We have got to recruit right and make sure that we have got the money to do that."
