Posted to the web 7 August 2008 Newly-promoted Swazi Premier Soccer League side Malanti Chiefs have given former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs' striker Phumlani Mkhize a further lifeline after renewing his contract for another season. Chiefs' boss Robert Gumede has confirmed that his team has agreed on a new contract for Mkhize who has already crossed the border to join his team for pre-season training. "He still has qualities of being good striker and did well for us last season. We decided to give him another chance and we hope his experience will be of great help to us this season." Malanti Chiefs, who had Mamelodi Sundowns' trialist Vusi Madimane last season, are also set to sign former Bidvest Wits midfielder Mpumelelo Gamedze.
